I grew up in a place called Australia. Forest fires are very common there, so common that many species are not just fire resistant but require fire to germinate their seeds. large forest fires happen every summer and we all see the results every year.
Fires that burn at the temperatures needed to cause that kind of house destruction, does not spare the leaves and branches of trees. Especially so for conifers which, like eucalypts, are rich in volatile oils. After a normal forest fire, not a super fire, just an average type, tree trunks remain and maybe some of the larger branches, depending on the height of the trees, but all else is consumed. Those photos of houses disintegrated to ground level but there still being trees appearing almost intact, though blackened, is unbelievable. In the sense of 'I do not actually believe that.'
Ergo, whatever the hell happened there, it was not a forest fire.
I caught a news article today that said the victims of the Maui fires were burned as if by Napalm.. we saw the evidence that these things were originally planned to be used in Southeast Asia... folks this is the biblical principle of 'seed time and harvest'. How many of the victims who no longer have homes will be able to rebuild or even remain on Maui. Why were the tsunami sirens not used? Why were there no warnings for people of the fires?
