Recall of 7 Major Shampoo Brands in 43 States Warns of Toxin Risk

On July 1, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published an update to a major hair care manufacturer’s recall of 19 dry shampoo aerosol products. The recall by Unilever was originally initiated in October 2022 to include products from the brands Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI (Bed Head and Rockaholic) and TRESemmé, which had been produced as early as in October 2021. According to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the shampoos were recalled “because testing of the product showed low levels of Benzene.” At that time, the FDA referred to the reason for the recall announcement as “product safety/unapproved ingredient.”

Benzene has been classified as a human carcinogen, as the National Cancer Institute has noted the chemical can lead to cancers such as leukemia and “other blood disorders.” Benzene also happens to be an ingredient in gasoline, according to the CDC.

Health officials reveal cause of cucumber-related illnesses across America

Untreated water used by a Florida cucumber grower is one likely source of salmonella food poisoning that sickened nearly 450 people across the U.S. this spring, federal health officials said Tuesday.

But that grower doesn’t account for all of the cucumber-related illnesses and 125 hospitalizations that were reported from late March through early June, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

Salmonella found in untreated canal water used by Bedner Growers Inc. of Boynton Beach, Florida, matched a strain of the bacteria that caused some of the illnesses in reported in more than 30 states and Washington, D.C. Additional types of salmonella were detected in soil and water samples collected at the site, FDA officials said.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has banned a soda additive starting next month over health concerns.

The FDA said Tuesday that it revoked its regulation that allowed brominated vegetable oil (BVO) to be used in food because it “is no longer considered safe.” The agency pointed to studies conducted with the National Institutes of Health that “found the potential for adverse health effects in humans.”

What they use to change pop is going to be as bad.

The cukes and bell peppers got more interesting when the illicit drugs showed up in shipments. Glad neither is on my grocery list.

Inflation is still high, grocery prices are up more than 19%, gas prices are still high and more than 15 million illegal aliens have poured over the border since Biden was installed in January 2021.

Most Americans are struggling to put food on the table thanks to Joe Biden.

This year’s Fourth of July cookout costs hit a record – up 30 percent from 5 years ago when Trump was in office.

I stopped buying "open" produce from Sprouts long ago just because it is handled by so many people before it reaches my table. I prefer to buy pre-packaged organic baby lettuce and spinach ... but how do we know that pre-packaged greens aren't washed with this stuff? I have sent an email to each of Earthbound Farm, and Simply Organic (Kroger's brand) asking if they "triple wash" with clean filtered water, or if they add this stuff to it. Will report back if I get replies.

Here is the Produce Maxx Safety Data Sheet ... mildly toxic if you get the product in your eyes, and it is corrosive to metals. The sheet says "do not allow contact with soil, surface or groundwater"! Just a little antimicrobial spray? Sounds toxic to me!

Already got a response from Earthbound Farm ... in their washing process, they use a "lightly chlorinated water" but they finish with clean, filtered water without chlorine. So there ya go. Better? But not by much.

"Hardly grew anything". Too funny. You don't seem like the kind of person to be working the fields, Pash. Growing things is an art not too many of us are skilled at. I failed at growing food too and switched to rose bushes. You can't eat them but they do enlighten and feed the soul.
