I'll have to watch the vid a few more times, and then a few times more. I wonder what that organic spice is that she uses? And obviously plastic lids will not do.

The food looked delicious! But, Of course, I'm always hungry...LOL It will take some planning for me - and I'm assuming I can switch out asparagus for the beans - maybe just do three at a time - with a break in between? Otherwise I'll be overwhelmed. Since I don't cook - it will be a bit of a challenge, but I have successfully followed a few recipes and this is so worth doing, IMO.

I’ve been wanting to start canning as well. I need a Canning for Dummies kind of thing to get me started because there is so much info out there and I really don’t know where to begin. Thank you for posting this.

My Mom and my Grandmothers all canned all their home grown veggies. I guess it's time I learned how. Didn't ever think I'd need to but here we are. Thanks for the link. ❤️

So did mine. Grandma was Depression era.

Bought from a local orchard, hybrids don't reproduce and TN TOMATO SEASON IS JULY NOT MAY: https://scontent.fjbr1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.15752-9/441536669_1455828185060891_5891689659376502270_n.jpg?_nc_cat=108&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=5f2048&_nc_ohc=9gCXsUTaHqAQ7kNvgGVe4aW&_nc_ht=scontent.fjbr1-1.fna&oh=03_Q7cD1QE0fNTmyzTaYk7GZ9J60TknOVIFpePz4txe1jf05eq2Lw&oe=667EAAD1

The 2nd one was tasteless, no smell, no taste, like hot house crap.

Sprouted seeds. Hybrids don't reproduce, and it is most definitely a hybrid. Our Tomato season is July-Aug. Mine are blooming now. I got my Heritage seeds from Baker's Rare Seeds. rareseeds.com

I just now learned why. Vivipary, They take the tomatoes green and put them in a space, or during picking and transport fill the space with nitrogen to induce ripening. Most ripen from the inside out but when this process is used it's from outside in. Why do we see a red tomato but cut it and still unripe in the middle? The seeds just germinate while in cold storage. https://www.theseedcollection.com.au/blog/Vivipary-An-Unusual-Unsettling-and-Fascinating-Phenomenon

Some of what was on display were just out of refrigeration.

This is an ingrained rural way of life where I am up north here. Even my hubby does it . I come home to new and interesting pickles after work very often( he's retired as of last year)!

We also make our own giant 40 gallon buckets of sauerkraut. The wait is excruciating when we're out of it🤣

Not hard to learn either canning or home made kraut.

German here too...one of the few dishes I can make - my grandmother taught me - cabbage rolls - rice wrapped in cabbage leaves - baked with kraut and tomatoes and sausage on top...

Very interesting and my mom would can when I was a kid and still does today at age 81. I forwarded this to her and this was her reply: The way Mom use to can all the time until she got a canner. But the canner you can meat in pints 75 min.

Quarts 90 mins. But water bath is 3 hours. Big difference and you do veggies same AMT. Of time.

But can definitely can the water bath way without a pressure canner. Me here again, I am in a big city and wanting to leave big time, preparing home for market to sell because I really think that the SHTF sooner than later and being in a warmer climate will be better. Very rural area when Walmart is about half an hour away.

Please thank your mom! I looked at the canners - not cheap, but if I do it a lot, and I think I'm going to stick with doing it - I might think about getting one...

We're in a big city too, but leaving is out of the question...ugh...you're lucky and smart to make the move!

Thank you, I still water bath can, but watch out the cheaper lids don't always seal. Part of the issue is this DAMN ELECTRIC STOVE, that came with the house, 11 years ago.

Being Synthetic: When I (Nearly?) Died

Are the body and the soul really attached so much?

author

yes...I loved this stack of Ray's - I commented on it...I was inspired to tell one of my stories...

Maybe I'll repost it here...thx for the reminder...this is what I wrote to Ray on his post...

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Amazing that you came out of that hospital. I know your wife was instrumental in saving you. It is a paradigm shattering experience.

I do think that we are well on our way to being synths...I said it long ago that our transformation had already begun.

My feeling that the soul/spirit - whatever you might call it, is distinct, and not "always" attached to the body - it animates it, but is perhaps timeless. I've traveled a lot in my out of body state, ever since I was a child. And I've taught myself to bring some of those journeys under conscious control and have transcended time and even this human existence.

I went to a future event - it was an experiment for 35 physicists. I predicted the venue for a birthday party for Russell Targ in San Francisco. They had not yet decided where to have his birthday celebration. It was 3 weeks prior to the event and I was invited, due to my OBE skills that I had shared with one of the physicists - I had interviewed him over the phone for a chapter in the book I was writing. We became good friends and he was fascinated by the OBE journeys, and he introduced me on a kind of exclusive email list.

Anyway, I was thrilled to be going and I told them I would target the affair and describe the venue, even though they hadn't even thought about where it would be at that point. And I said, all the better to prove that consciousness is non-local and instead of trying to quantify non-locality, they should try to experience it. I had their attention.

So, I went out of my body that night and when I awoke, I wrote in an email to them all about what I had seen, describing the place in great detail. Unmistakable detail. No one even emailed me back about it, but when I arrived for the event, it was exactly as I had described. They had only settled on the location the day prior to the event. They were all amazed when they realized my consciously-controlled out of body had transcended time and space and that I had actually been there. They were all very aware of remote viewing, but this was something else - this was experiential, and they knew it.

I had always had these experiences, but when I finally managed to bring them under control and guide them, it was a paradigm shift for me.

What does it mean? Just what it means to me, I guess. That our physical forms are just a ride in the human amusement park and that there are many other rides to go on? And that we've been on?

Perhaps we find our fellow travelers, allies and fellow warriors over and over again, on battlefield after battlefield? Even if this one is virtual, we are still in this war together.

We're all so grateful that you are still with us...we're not quite finished with this final battle quite yet.

If you're ever curious about OBEs, William Buhlman, who I met and corresponded with often, has some great videos. It will rock your world if you happen to master it...XO to you and your wife."

Hi Doll...yes, I will try it too...! We'll have to compare notes! Since I can't seems to grow a freaking garden...

I thought I would start with some small salsa container bottles and a few farmer's market veggies - just to see if I can do it. 💖

I know, me too! And with this weather warfare that's ramping up, it will become impossible unless we grow indoors meaning a sun room, or greenhouse (made of metal, not plastic, to withstand all kinds of weather) and grow lights, vertical hydroponic growing. Costs $$$ which we don't have right now, but hoping our silver stash will save our a$$ when it counts.

We had storms again yesterday...hail and high winds and tornados...must be their new thing...almost a dozen dead from it...our power went out, but came back on about a half hour later...our generator was supposed to be here today...but just got a notification...we might not get it...company is supposed to notify us, seems to be some sort of problem...ugh...doesn't look good...we can't grow in this soil with contaminated air and rain and no sun...we gather the cleanest food we can find and can it...yes we "can!"

Expand full comment

Yeah I’m not happy about the fact that I can’t stop whatever they’re spraying. I buy organic soil but I’m sure they sprayed over wherever that came from too so it’s all contaminated at this point. The well water too. I was going to collect rain to use for the plants too but no idea what’s in that so I’m probably safer with the well water.

Federal regulations prevent gay and bisexual men from donating tissue, such as corneas, ligaments, and blood vessels. Similar restrictions have been relaxed or lifted for donated blood and organs in recent years.
